    Job Title:FMS Weapons Integration Engineer (Engineer/Scientist III)

    Job Location: Crystal City, VA

    Security Clearance: Secret w/ SAR eligibility

    Responsibilities

    FMS CSS includes support to established Security Cooperative Participants, Israel, Japan, Korea with additional Security Cooperative and FMS participants the F-35 JPO anticipated in the future. Due to FMS funding, the CSS personnel that are specifically identified to support this FMS SOW Section are expected to work exclusively on FMS project. While the day-to-day management and priorities for the CSS will set by the FMS Program Office, the CSS personnel supporting FMS in specific area of disciplines will be matrixed to work with specific JPO IPTs as their technical/engineering ‘homeroom’ in order to ensure that technical consistency and integration are achieved as the FMS CSS personnel perform technical activities in support of the FMS Program Office.


    The contractor shall perform all work off-site in Arlington, VA (Crystal City), F-35 JPO field sites, and off-site at the contractor’s location within the Washington District of Columbia (DC) metro area/National Capital Region (NCR). The contractor shall travel routinely to Continental United States (CONUS) locations and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) locations to conduct visits with existing and potential FMS customers.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering; Master’s degree or higher preferred
    • At least 10 years of total experience in an engineering or technical position in DoD airborne weapons system/munitions, design engineering, systems engineering, test and evaluation, or program management with 5 of those years working with ordnance
    • Possess demonstrated experience in certification and integration of airborne weapons systems
    • Demonstrated knowledge of fighter aircraft weapons practices and policies (multi-service)
    • Knowledge of qualification and approvals requirements for weapons and stores
    • Knowledge of aircraft/stores design, development and certification procedures
    • Ability to review technical proposals using engineering knowledge to evaluate proposed designs against F-35 program requirements
    • Ability to work and interface effectively as a team with foreign customers and internal and external stakeholders (weapons/stores manufacturers, in-service support organizations, weapons IPTs, qualification and approving and acceptance authorities, and all related F-35 IPTs)
    • Acquisition certification in Systems Engineering DAWIA Level II or higher in System Engineering, T&E or equivalent (desired).
    • Knowledge of the Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs to include the understanding of the FMS sales process from case development, implementation, execution, to closure, in accordance with the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM), DoD 5105.38-M
    • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze a variety of weapons program information, make sound judgments concerning weapons, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to leadership
    • Ability to prepare and present oral and written presentations to any or all levels of government and industry management. Possess good interpersonal and/or diplomatic skills (highly desired)
    • Willingness to travel, including overseas. Occasional CONUS travel (4-6 times per year) and OCONUS travel (2-3 times per year)
    • SECRET Clearance with eligibility for SAR
