    Job Title:  Research Analyst SME

    Job Location: Washington DC

    Security Clearance:  Clearable

    Responsibilities

    Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS) supports U.S. foreign and security policies by strengthening the strategic capacity of African states to identify and resolve security challenges in ways that promote civil-military cooperation, respect for democratic values, and safeguarding human rights. The ACSS engages African partner states and institutions through rigorous academic and outreach programs that build strategic capacity and foster long-term, collaborative relationships.

     

    • Source and deliver Africa experts to serve as speakers, facilitators, panelists, adjunct faculty or writers in support of ACSS programs, (e.g., roundtables, research and publications).
    • Provide research and academic in support of ACSS events
    • Engage leading experts in research of various subject areas, as identified by the Government to produce various publication materials
    • Source and deliver interpreter services
    • Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree in Africa Studies
    • MS Degree in International Affairs
    • Experience in think-tanks, academia, DoD, international affairs
    • Must have a large and available network of Africa Subject Matter experts
    • Experience in souring translation services (spoken, written)
    • Experience in working with Department of Defense
    • Working proficiency in French
